Back to the future

This project was about getting 8 items and figure out how much they were 20 years ago which was 1989, find out the price now and find out the price 20 years in the future in 2029. Then, we researched the price of the items in 1989. Then, we found the percentage that the price of the item increased in the past 20 years. Next, we subtracted the current price by our percent it increased and after that, we divide the answer but the current price. Next, we multiply our answer and add it to get the approximate price that the item will be in 2029.I enjoyed doing this project because I got to work with a partner and I learned to use percent change to find out the prices of items that will probably could be in the future. I think the only difficult part of the project that was difficult was finding the prices of the items from the 1989. If I had to do this project again the thing that i would do different is to choose easier items.

The Day Before The Event!!!

I feel very confident about the test tomorrow and Wednesday. I think the reason I feel the way I do is because I think I learned all the standards that are going to be on the test. I think 8th grade math is hard in some standards but not in all. I think some activities I would like for Ms.Pulphus to plan after the test is some projects so that the students could work together and we can help one another with things we don't understand. I think I am prepared for high school and I think that I am confident for going to high school next year because I am going to learn harder math and new things in math. I think an area that I need to improve in is measurement because we didn't learn a lot of it during the year and I also need improvement in the word problems that included measurement. Three academic goals I would like to accomplish by June 24th is pass the reading, math, science, and social studies exam. I would also like to leave the school with a high average, and my last goal is to graduate with my class.
