Journal Entry 10: "Angles part 2"
When they give you the word one is twice as large as the other we know the first angel is two divided than the number because when they say twice as much you multiply by two. If the directions said one is five degrees bigger than the other is saying that the next angel you need to add five degrees to it. The way we know when to assign a variable to something is when you see no letter next to the angel unless they are vertical angels you need to put a variable to represent it. Corresponding angels are congruent angels but that does not mean that they are also vertical because corresponding angels are in he same location but they are on different parallel lines. The word congruent means the same. For example, vertical angels are congruent. Supplementary angels are not congruent because supplementary angels are angels that equal up to 180 degrees. There can be two angels that are both corresponding and supplementary because they could be the same angel and on different parallel lines and the could equal 180. There also could be angels that are vertical and corresponding. The four angels that form around a line is equaled to 360 degrees.

Journal Entry 9: "Angles part 1"
The way you set your equation to equal to 90 or 180 is by determining whether your angel is 180 by seeing if the angel has a straight line in it. Or if it equaled to 90 it will show you either a box with mean that the angel your looking at equals 90 or it will look like a line from the middle of the 180 degree angel. If we set angels equal to each other it means that they vertical to each other or congruent. No we are not correctly solving these problems if we only solve for x because once you solve for x you need to plug in what u got for x to know what your missing angels equal. The word congruent mean the same. Complementary angels are congruent because they are the same angels and they equal the same. Supplementary angels are not congruent because they are next to each other. Other congruent angels are vertical angels, and alternate exterior angels.
Journal Entry 8: Vertical Angles
Congruent means the same and equal. You know when you have vertical angels because they are always across from each other and they are also congruent. A quadrilateral is a shape with four sides for example, a square is a quadrilateral. You can find the other angels if they tell you what only one angel is because first, you could find the opposite side of the vertical angel and you should also know that the inside of a quadrilateral equals to 360 degrees. Then when you at least have two angels from the inside of the quadrilateral you could add those two up and subtract them by 360. Then you do the same thing to find your last angel.

journal entry7:Pythagorean Theorem warp-up
The Pythagorean Theorem is useful because it tells you weather the triangle you have is a right angel triangle. The formula for the Pythagorean Theorem is a^2+b^2=c^2. For example if u have a right triangle and one side is 10 another is 8 and the another side is 13. So the first this you do is write the formula (a^2+b^2=c^2 ) then you plug in your numbers the two smaller number in the triangle are your legs and the highest number is call hypotenuse. So we you plug it is 10^2=100 ,8^2=64 and ,13^2=to 169 and when you add your legs you must compare it to your hypotenuse to see whither it is a right triangle or not. So the legs equal to 164 and the hypotenuse is 169.Therefor, it is not a right triangle. This is why the Pythagorean Theorem is important and useful.

journal entry6:moving variables
The way you move one variable term to the other side of the equal sign is by using the inverse operations. For example,16j=12-4j we would have to do the inverse operation of subtraction which is addition so you add 4j to 16j and it will give you 20j=12.Then you divide 20j by 12 and it will give you a decimal. The relationship between addition and subtraction is that hey are like brothers and sisters. The saying what you do to one side you do to the other means like if you have addition you do subtraction and if u have subtraction you do addition. It is related to a balance scale because if a balance scale is not even that means the two objects that you have one your scale one of them is heavier than the other that is the same thing as moving variables what ever you do to one side you do to the other.
journal entry5:Laws of exponents part 1
We can expand any variable with an exponent. For example y is the coefficient but even though it has no exponent on top of it y has a 1 above it because something times itself is going to be itself.x*x is x^2 it is not just x because you are leaving out the other x.The pattern that i noticed when you multiply exponent are that when you have your exponents you add your exponent. For example, 2y^3+3y^4 people will just think the answer is 6y^12 but it is really 6y^7 so instead of multiplying the exponents you add it.
