"Transformations - Dilations"
The dilated figure does not change it's shape but it does change its size, and location. When you zoom into the photo the scale factor is greater than one. This zooming relates to dilation because if the scale factor is less than one the figure is smaller and if the scale factor is greater that one the figure is bigger. If a figure has a scale factor of 1.5 the figure gets bigger because its like add a whole and a half. If we have a figure with the scale factor of 0.5 you are dividing the number by 2. The difference between dilation and translation is that translation the shape only changes its location and dilation is that it changes it location, and its size. Multiplying by 1/3 the same as dividing by 3 because you need to just divided by three the same thing as 0.5 you need to divde it by 2.
